Big semiconductor companies are calling for immigration reform that would allow highly skilled immigrant workers to  remain in the U.S.

The companies told leaders that U.S should make it easier for highly skilled immigrants to obtain green card so that they can continue to stay in the country. The companies argues that U.S. should exempt eligible immigrants with doctorate and master's degree in STEM field should be exempt and be able to obtain green care more easily.

Also, the companies added that U.S. should invest more in developing qualified U.S. born STEM students and create more specific semiconductor degree programs.
